SAVE THE DATE!

5- DAY SILENT CONTEMPLATIVE RETREAT
Sunday, April 27, 2025 through Friday, May 2, 2025
Zephyr Point/Presbyterian Conference Center
Zephyr Cove, NV

It’s been a few months since the 2024 Silent Retreat came to a close, and each of us have returned to our day-to-day lives.

Our retreat team has already been laying the groundwork for the 2025 Silent Retreat.  Unfortunately, Galilee Episcopal Retreat Center implemented new requirements for future retreats. In addition to the increased fees, we would have to guarantee 20 retreatants, would be sharing the space with other groups, and be required to pay for 20 attendees regardless of how many actually attended.

After considering other retreat locations and scenarios, Zephyr Point proved to be our best and most cost-effective option. The rooms at Zephyr Point are more hotel like and each room has 2 queen-size beds and a private bathroom. Bedding and linens are provided, meals are $55.00 each day, ease of access is much improved at Zephyr Point, and the property is also located on the beach.

The dates for the 2025 retreat are Sunday, April 27 to Friday, May 2, 2025.

The retreat will take place at Zephyr Point/Presbyterian Conference Center, Zephyr Cove, NV. Its web address is: www.zephyrpoint.org  if you care to get a better sense of the center and amenities.

The retreat team kept costs in mind as we looked at options and are very much aware that costs are higher for 2025. We've reserved 5 rooms so far, which is required to lock in the retreat dates. The cost for a shared room (2 Persons) $650 per person, which includes meals. A single room is $1,025, which includes meals.

The fees listed above cover the total costs of the retreat. Contemplative Outreach of Northern Nevada (CONN) does not provide any funding/scholarships for this event.

To guarantee your space for the retreat, please contact Cathy Wayne for a registration form. Mail the completed registration form, together with your check made payable to CONN, to Cathy Wayne, 1604 Jones Street, Minden, NV 89423.

We look forward to celebrating Eastertide 2025 with each of you.

Blessings and Love,

Cathy, Mark, Dennis and Patty – Your Retreat Team

About Us
Centering Prayer
Prayer Groups

We hold several introductory workshops and days of reflection each year. During Lent we meet at Lake Tahoe for a three-day silent retreat.

This is a group focused on the contemplative dimension of life and Centering Prayer.

We welcome you to community if you have attended an introductory workshop on Centering Prayer or if you are visiting the northern Nevada area and have an established Centering Prayer practice. We hold several introductory workshops each year.

Centering Prayer follows Jesus's teaching (Matthew 6:6): "If you want to pray, enter your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." Centering Prayer is resting in God.

Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer.

We have several prayer groups that meet weekly in northern Nevada:

  • A group in Carson City on Wednesday mornings

  • Two groups in Reno on Mondays and Thursdays

  • A group in Gardnerville on Tuesday afternoons

True Self

The fundamental goodness of human nature, like the mystery of the Trinity, Grace, and the Incarnation, is an essential element of Christian faith.

Our basic core of goodness is our true Self. Its center of gravity is God.
